Understanding the Benefits of Capitalism
"Understanding the benefits of capitalism will help you to become a beneficiary".
I asked one of my millionaire friends one day what his
secret to success was. He answered in the most direct way and really
caught my attention. I'll forever remember his words, he said "Two
things Charles, its who you know, and what you own".
Ownership of personal and intellectual property is a major benefit to capitalism. Check out the free report below.
Competition is also an essential component of
capitalism. When you compete and win you enjoy the rewards. The great
thing about capitalism is that there is plenty of room to succeed and
plenty of ways to succeed. Those who truly understand capitalism know
that you do not have to compete AGAINST anyone, the competition is
WITHIN THE SYSTEM itself. Once you understand the system and master it
you in effect win. The benefits of capitalism has helped individuals
and entire nations overcome tremendous disadvantages in the past and
will continue to advance the human condition well into the future.
Understanding the benefits of capitalism and examining
the pros and cons of capitalism will help you develop a bold vision for
your business. This understanding can be likened to getting your
drivers license. It'll help you understand the rules of the road and
the vehicle you drive. You will be better equipped to deal with other
drivers along the way. The understanding of capitalism will help you to
anticipate the changing road and help prepare you for unexpected
challenges.
I will now direct your attention to an article written
by Roger B. Butters, Ph.D. President, Nebraska Council on Economic
Education and Assistant Professor of Economics University of Nebraska
– Lincoln
This is the complete article with no editing. In it he
shares the pros and cons of capitalism. Professor Butters was kind
enough to let me share this with you, my next millionaire. I suggest if
you can, that you print it out for future reference. Click Here
for the link.
I trust you have read the article. It's rather long
winded (sorry professor) however the good professor makes it clear that
even at the university level there are cultural and societal roadblocks
and even open hostility impeding a clear understanding of the many
benefits of capitalism.
I have witnessed with my own eyes in a room full of four
thousand people in a beautiful chapel in Virginia, maybe twelve years
ago. The speaker asked a few simple questions to a diverse and educated
audience. The Speaker was Bill Britt of Amway (short for The American
Way) fame and fortune. Britt became a successful self made millionaire
in network marketing.
He asked us "How many of you have went to college or graduated from
college"? At his question better than 85% of the audience rose proudly
to their feet. His next question was astonishing; he then asked, "How
many of you have become wealthy from what you were taught in college"?
Just like a Hot Air Balloon that has been hit with a canon ball everybody
took a seat; including yours truly!
Were we embarrassed? Sort of. After all we attended to
find a business opportunity and a better life. None of us had been
educated on the pros and cons of capitalism and our roll in the free
enterprise system. We all realized right then and there, at the same
defining moment that there was a whole lot more to running a successful
business than the accounting or economic courses we took in school.
A lot of what we didn't understand was how to take
control of our own minds and direct them to achieve our desired end.
The light bulb switched on for a lot of us that day.
So, if you haven't done so I urge you to read the
article a couple of times over. When you do you'll get a real solid
appreciation of the benefits of capitalism.
